EZ,
So been checking out the 2nd Wave plates from x years ago and there is too much goodness in them. I seriously do not know why so many people said they weren't as good as earlier releases I just don't get it. I got some from my bro and I can pretty much reel off a list of quality stuff from 2nd Wave, Syntax (and what an amazing double pack), Sonar Circle, Alpha Omega (!), Breakage+Threshold, Bug Nyne, Digital, Nucleus (did that count as 2nd Wave? did Paradox count as 2nd wave?), Genotype, Blake 7, Locus, Special Touch (what a freaking double pack!), Denz + Tribalist, etc.... Many many good tracks, I might have to do a 2ndwave mix just to make the point. Anyway, since then I heard there was supposed to be tracks by Jem1 and Vapour etc.... coming out but I don't think that's the case anymore, so I was wondering if Reinforced was not going to be releasing any new music or whether it would continue as a '3rd wave' of digital music? For me the great thing about 2ndwave is that the tracks that I like work equally well on a dancefloor as they do in the car or at home. And I think whoever is involved in the talent spotting at R is really good at it, I mean look at all the people that have come through Reinforced and where they are now, and how their musical creations have developed. The tunes would fit into a liquid thing, a hard renegade thing, a jump up thing, anything. I think 2nd wave captured all the different kinds of sounds and just twisted them. I don't know if there are people that feel the same way about it. I think Reinforced have got a knack at spotting good potential music makers. Maybe they just ain't come across any yet and that's why there is no new Reinforced bits? I get that vinyl sales are rubbish, and that probably music sales in general are probably rubbish, and maybe that's why? I just have a vision that maybe you could mp3's of tunes, release some free maybe, get support from Bailey, Storm, Flight, etc.... possibly do a night. Could even do a Reinforced Vs Metalheadz or Valve night? They do them at the custard factory and they go off! I see Reinforced as like a big ball of energy, and every producer that has come through that have contributed to the energy, and then suddenly it's like stopped, there's a vacuum and there don't seem to be much out there taking it's place. There's good stuff around definitely, but Reinforced just has something special and individual to contribute. But anyway, respect to Reinforced Cru, too much good music which I still ain't got my ears to check yet! Long Live Da R!
