Seems like it's gonna be a banger - sold out ages ago and according to the local tourist office there's only enough beds for 1200 in Petrcane (where it's held) and they have 1500 bookings! Gonna be packed solid, so I'm hoping that won't spoil things. Anyone going? And if you are, it's SCORCHING hot here at the mo - got burnt rightly yesterday so bring your suncream... Highlights for me: The No Fakin' boys ripped it up - played some twisted banging %@@+. I seen them paly a few times before but this time they took the biscuit. Bonobo live too, nice stuff - quite downbeat for the festival vibe, but everyone needed a break by then so they seemed to fit right! Top musicians. Domu/Pete Simpson, seriously tight and Pete has an amaaaazing voice. Nice rhodes player too. MDCL absolutely killed it, straight off the plane, in a taxi and then onstage. Floored everyone from the first couple seconds and kept them hooked til the end - banging beats, evil evil bass sounds, seriously good stuff. Trojan Soundsystem were a nice surprise too, never heard of them but they really suited the Sunday vibe, nice dubby stuff, live singers/MCs, plus dropped a few jems too. And Scruff finishing off the weekend - had EVERYONE dancing like deranged twats - first time I seen him play and he's my new favourite DJ! Big big shouts too to the Sick Trumpet boys, top geezers. Common Ground Collective played some nice stuff, and was good to see Daz playing in the club. Missed Karen P cos I couldn't blag my way past the pumped bouncers! Ole Smokey and friends kept things really nice and mellow for the early spots, perfect for chilling by the sea, drinking a beer and having a smoke. Didn't make any of the boat parties, but heard they were sick - could hear the cheering from the shore! everyone coming off them seemed well pleased with themselves. All in all, absolutely wicked, amazing music, everyone on such a good buzz, made much new friends and got seriously inspired for some new tunage...was good to meet up with Idleberg & Paddy Freeform, both sound as a pound ;o) Nick and Eddy and the rest of the organisers definitely deserve a BIG pat on the pack - top notch stuff! Posts: 181 (10/07/08 12:26 PM) Sapphire Card Reply Quote More My Recent Posts Message Me Connection Blocking Invite Ignore User's Posts Report Post	i second everything ishfaq said, probably one of the best festivals ever...location superb, music amazing, people were all legends..i spent the whole weekend grinning like a loon....seriously good party deannis ferrer absolutely smashed the club to pieces on the last night, best house set i've heard in a long time, when the place eventually shut at 6.20am i stumbled out into the sunrise on the beach for a goodbye jazz @%* then straight onto the bus to zagreb...i must have looked a proper plight by the time i got home, my flatmates took one look and just said to me 'good weekend then?' great to meet you ishfaq and jan, and ish, i'm back in august for electric elephant so will give you a shout ez PADDY
