Love Berlin, been many times. As for reccomendations:
Clubs - Watergate (awesome venue on the river, crazy parties 'til the afternoon the next day), Weekend (spread over 3 floors), Berghain (it's okay but a bit uber trendy these days), Golden Gate, Tresor, Club Der Visionaire (Sunday clubbing outdoors, awesome) Record shops - Hot Wax leads the way here, ridiculously well stocked Bars - All the bars down Kastanienalle are really great and there is an awesome cafe called Oberholz (great apple cake) which is at the end of Kastanienalle |

soultrade isn't far from hot wax, it's run by re:soul and has its ties to the jazzanova guys. i
havn't been to watergate yet, but what i've seen i have to go there at some point - even if you're not too much into the music played their, it
looks stunning on pics/videos. one of my favourite spots used to be the nbi as it's a very
small but very comfortable/good looking place to go to, diverse sometimes obscure events. however, they have moved their location before and all the info i got
might be very outdated
i guess berlin is one of the cities were you can always run into a a spontaneous party or places that aren't on any map. also there are a lot of recordshops like everywhere! |

Cheers for the info guys, I had an amazing time. I didnt do half the stuff i set out to do. The
short story is I basically got drunk for 4 days and lost 2 days sleep. For the long story read on...
Thursday went to loads of different bars a long the river and pretty much got smashed till the
early hours of the morning. Thats all i remember!
Friday we did some touristy stuff which was intersting then Chilled out most of the afternoon
and early evening in a beach bar. Then we hooked up with a group of German girls who knew one of our friends in London. They gave us some good tips and
pointers including taking glasses back to the bar after you have finished with them. We were wondering why beer seemed expensive but they just charged an
extra euro on top as a deposit for the glass. There were 7 of us who were buying rounds for 2 days so imagine how much money we lost due to not knowing that
simple thing. They took us to a burger joint called White Trash with a rock club downstairs where i had a seriously hench burger
. then on to the weekend club to see Jimpster and Vincenzo which is a heavy club
on the 15th floor of an office block, on the 16th floor you come out onto a roof terrace where we drunk some more and watched the sun come up to some deep
techy house. Wicked view! Jimpster was telling me that the real weekend club (which is apparently better) was on the 13th floor but was closed so it was
easier to get to the roof terrace what with the Weather being so nice.
Going into the early hours of saturday morning we decided to check out Panorama Bar but we didnt get in. For some reason they didnt like the look of us so we decided to walk to the Watergate.
On the way we met some people who were going to a bar called Bar 125. We walked for about 45 mintes to get there and they didnt let us in either. We then got
a cab to The Watergate club who yeah you guessed it, also refused us entry
. After this we decided to call it a night and got a cab home at about 9.30 in the morning. i managed to stay up drinking some more with one of my
mates at our hostel bar till about midday before i decided to retire.
Saturday. Went to a few more bars
then headed over to the watergate which is an amazing club. Wicked location, layout, sound, people. Probably had the best time here than i did anywhere else
over the weekend. Some of my friends didnt get in though which was a shame. They are really strict with who they let into clubs in berlin. Good in a way coz
they dont want randopms in there not contributing to the vibe. Teifschwarz was playing upstairs which was pure filth and not usually my cup of tea but i got
down till 6.30 in the morning anyway. Would have stayed longer but my mates wanted to leave. I read that that particular party went on most of the next day.
Berliners dont give a flying f*ck!
Sunday chilled out in a few bars.
Went to a places called Tacheles whish is a place for artists to gather, they have art studios, indie cinema, as well as a live music venue and a club. Cool
place and i would definetly like to check it out at night time.
I had a good time and will probably
go back soon as there are a million things to do.

Yeah definetly one of the best clubs ive been to. Its the the perfect size, wicked sound and an outside area that floats on the river. Amazing! Why cant we
have something like this in London? London clubs are boring the sh!t out of me these days.
Ive heard that apparently Panorama bar is even better. Have you been there?

Yeah, I don't like Panorama Bar though tbh. It's a bit of a sleazy, trendy sausage fest. When I've been there it's been kinda obnoxious.
Weekend is great though. If you go back this summer, Club Cer Visionairre is a must see. Sunday clubbing at its best.
